Had a good weekend making some more upgrades to the bunny pen. Not exactly obvious in the photo, but I built a hanging pellet feeder out of pine. Holds quiet a bit more pellets so they can always have access to it when they are hungry. After they are a year old I will start to regulate that a bit more... but for now it's all you can eat.

I also made a shelf unit to store all my bunny supplies on. All the hay is kept in the bin on the bottom, food and litter (wooden pellets for a stove) on the middle shelf. Treats and cleaning supplies up top.

You can see they approve. I don't have a huge problem with them being chewers... they tend to only chew the toys and materials out of pine I give them. But... just to be safe... the shelves are made from plywood which is not ok for bunnies to chew. So I added an inch of pine banding around the shelf edges in case they get curious.

For those interested... the framing and base boards around my house have been covered in packaging tape. This is a training method to keep them from chewing on those as well. So far it's worked. They don't like the texture of the packaging tape, so the few times they've tested it, they immediately stopped. After a few days they completely lost interest in chewing the base boards and went back to all the toys and chew sticks I provide.
